Call for ECRs Showcase Articles

The editorial board of Investigative Interviewing: Research and Practice is inviting Early Career Researchers (ECRs; undergrads, graduate students, post-docs) to submit brief research articles on their work to be included as part of the ECR Showcase feature in the journal.

What is the ECR Showcase? The ECR Showcase is a new feature of iIIRG’s journal. We are keen to help ECRs build their CVs and professional network by publishing with us. Our goal is to feature an ECR Showcase section in each issue, which will highlight work completed by ECRs. Submissions can be made that showcases research related to any facet of investigative interviewing.

Promoting the work of ECRs. One of the objectives of this initiative is to increase engagement with ECRs so that they can showcase their work to academics and practitioners at an international level. Moreover, since Investigative Interviewing: Research and Practice is now Open Access, any articles featured as part of the ECR Showcase will be able to reach a wider readership, and aid in sharing newly discovered knowledge to researchers and practitioners in the investigative interviewing area at a global level.

What should I submit? Our preference is that these contributions would be single author only. Submissions to the ECR Showcase shall be approximately 2-3 pages (~1000 words), double-spaced (not including references), and adhere to the APA Formatting Guidelines (7th Edition). Writing style should be delivered as a broad and general-audience overview explaining their Master’s/PhD/postdoc work. The submissions would also undergo a ‘light touch’ peer-review within the editorial team. We also ask that ECRs provide a brief bio about themselves that mention details about their supervisor(s), what university they are studying/working at, their general research area, and funding support.

The submission deadline for the ECR Showcase is on a rolling basis, and will be considered for publication in the journal based on the order of submissions (i.e., first-come, first-serve). If you think your work is better suited being submitted as a full-length manuscript, you can also consider submitting your work as part of our General Call for Papers. All submissions to the journal can be made directly through the iIIRG website (https://iiirg.org/resources/journal/ii-rp-journal-submission/)
