iIIRG NETWORKING GRANTS

HOW TO APPLY

The iIIRG Networking Grants facilitate research projects where academics join with practitioners to apply for funding to support work which will benefit the field of investigative interviewing. 

Successful applicants will be expected to present the findings at the next iIIRG conference in July 2026, in Leuven, Belgium.

To apply please submit a 1000-word proposal outlining the aims of your research, how it will be delivered with timescale, and the practical/theoretical significance of the research by 31. March 2025.

  • Please submit a 1000-word proposal outlining the aims of your research, how it will be delivered with timescale, and the practical/theoretical significance of the research by 31. March 2025.
  • Accepted file types: doc, docx, pdf, txt, rtf, Max. file size: 64 MB.
    Please upload a file containing your abstract of your submission. For posters, oral presentations, and case studies, these should be no longer than 200 words. For symposia, this should be no more than 500 words. Abstracts will be used for review purposes by the iIIRG Scientific Committee and for inclusion in the conference programme.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Criteria for Academic/Practitioner collaboration grants

Eligibility – Applicants should be members of iIIRG. At least one applicant should be available to present the proposed research at the Conference of iIIRG (July 2026, Leuven, Belgium) and write an article about the project for publication in the iIIRG journal.

Eligible Costs – Eligible costs include any reasonable items deemed essential for the project. Examples of items not eligible for funding include institutional overheads, computer hardware, computer software, publication costs, payment to the applicants. Awards will not be made retrospectively. All costs must be justified.

Assessment process – The applications will be blind-reviewed by at least two members of the Scientific Committee at iIIRG.

Assessment criteria
(Each one is marked out of 5, where 5 = excellent)
Applications will be judged on the following criteria:

1: Quality – Is the activity well planned, with clear descriptions about the aims of the project, how it will be delivered, and how it will be evaluated?

2: Mutual Benefit – Is it clear how the activity has the potential to benefit the participants, as well as other stakeholders and end-users? How would you rate the practical/theoretical significance of this project? Are potential impacts clearly explained?

3: Relevance – Is the proposed activity relevant to the field of investigative interviewing?

4: Feasibility – Is the proposed activity feasible for the time-frame, and available funds?

5: Sustainability – To what extent does the project and its outcomes have the potential to continue to engage participants (if appropriate), and/or lead to ongoing partnerships or new research?
